Job description

Role of Construction Supervisor (E&I):
– To drive the safe, timely and quality fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of all E&I systems on the topsides.
– To participate in and drive Flawless Project Delivery (FPD) for E&I systems.
– To ensure execution adherence to the Contractor Inspection and Testing Plan, and approved for construction drawings and applicable specifications.
– Liaise with the Shell, Contractor, Sub-contractors on matters relating to the safe execution of E&I systems on Topsides. Report progress, performance, initiatives, issues and challenges to E&I Systems Lead

Construction Supervisor (E&I) responsibilities:

  • Become knowledgeable of the project approved for construction drawings and specifications.
  • Become knowledgeable of the Industrial Codes, Standards, and Practices as referenced by the project specifications.
  • Become knowledgeable of the project HSES Plan
  • Become knowledgeable of the Contractor’s Inspection & Testing Plan and Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain and disseminate drawings and specifications.
  • Plan and verify that daily in process checks and inspections are performed by the E&I Systems Inspectors.
  • Review and comment on E&I systems drawings and P&IDs.
  • Verify and monitor the establishment and adherence to project accepted material tracking, welding, and NDE procedures.
  • Review of Contractor’s shop drawings.
  • Verify status of welder and NDE technician qualifications.
  • Coordinate and report on the quality of the installation of the E&I System components.
  • Perform necessary dimensional checks.
  • Coordinate the establishment and adherence of FPD initiatives relating to E&I systems. Coordinate the witnessing of pre-commissioning activities for E&I systems, including loop checks, continuity checks, etc.
  • Review list of E&I Systems items for inclusion in the final punch list.
  • Identify any possible source of unexpected re-work or extra work that could impact cost or schedule, through the Contractor’s activities daily surveillance.
  • Verify that the E&l Systems components are in accordance with the Classification Society Rules and Regulations.
  • Capture learning’s related to the Design, Constructability, and Site Engineering.

    Qualification & Experience:

    • At least twenty five (25) years experience in supervising the construction of offshore / marine E&I Systems of a large (more than 10,000MT) topsides and of similar complexity, or a degree in a technological related engineering discipline with 15 years of working experience in a similar environment.
    • Strong familiarity with HSES processes and procedures.
    • Hands on experience on Mechanical Completion and Commissioning activities.
    • Be able to read and understand related E&I systems drawings, including cable schedule and P&ID’s.
    • Strong familiarity with relevant E&I Industry Codes and Specifications
    • Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Management System and associated process and procedures.
    • Familiarity with Shell Construction Specifications.
    • Strong documentation skills. .
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
