Job Details:
Job title:   Oil Market Risk Analyst
Location:  London, United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a Oil Market analyst.

The key responsibilities are:

  •     Performing day-to-day middle office activities related to oil trading (both physical and financial)
  •     Assisting in providing the Company with the capability to value, monitor and risk manage a range of traded oil markets
  •     Dealing with ad hoc requests related to risk analytics for Oil Trading and Middle Office in general;
  •     Work with Oil FO to continue developing the oil trading/equity business within ETS
  •     Perform all MO functions including:
  •     Analysis of positions and understanding of how they fit within the firms risk framework. Positions may be both physical as well as financial
  •     VaR calculation and analysis, ensure that the VaR metric is both complete and accurately reflects the risk of the desk
  •     P&L explains, Analysis of the P&L to help explain it in terms of the greeks as well as by asset including spread assets
  •     Stress, Analysis and calculation of stress on a aggregate level as well as specific strategy level ensuring that the figure is accurate and has the support of FO as well as MO
  •     Where appropriate, support ongoing projects (IT and other) to support the Oil MO; help in developing curve construction methodologies, in order to have forward price curves needed to re-evaluate the positions (with emphasis on illiquid markets)
  •     Carry out analysis on oil markets as necessary and maintain a good knowledge of market conditions through the use of provided tools;
  •     Maintain a good knowledge of risk metrics
  •     Interface with FO and all relevant functions involved for new products analysis
  •     Interface with IT to develop and manage all MO activities within the company dedicated ETRM system
  •     Contribute to new business initiatives, systems or process improvement projects
  •     Share expertise in the team
  •     Manage ad hoc risk analysis

    Skills
    -Strong Excel skills with macros and VBA knowledge and working experience with ENDUR/AMPHORA
    -Full command of English language (spoken and written)
    -Knowledge and understanding of the crude oil markets, the financial/physical instruments commonly used for risk management
    -Strong academic credentials with a numeracy-oriented specialization
    -Experience/understanding of physical crude oil and petroleum products is required
    -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
    -Experience: 2-4 years in crude oil risk management / middle office is mandatory
