Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the data analysis and insight generation for the Fuels Market Research team in the AMR Zone. The position has one direct report. The candidate would be responsible for delivering consumer, customer, and channel insights to the Zone Fuels Leadership Team through strong technical mastery, business acumen, and leadership skills. ExxonMobil is also a global leader in the fuels category with 3 different global brands including Exxon, Mobil, and Esso. It services more than 20 countries with a diverse portfolio in both gasoline and diesel products. The position is located in AMR HQ; Fairfax and will be relocating to Houston in 2015.

Primary Job Functions:
 Insights Leadership – Work closely with Zone Management, Planning, and Marketing colleagues to understand needs in the AMR retail fuels market (consumers, enterprise customers, distributors and retailers)
 Provide recommendations to the business based on key market research insights and industry trends, serving as the ‘Voice of the Consumer’ as a proactive key member of the Zone team.
 Work with the Brand Managers, Brand Associates, Strategic Advisors, Marketing Communications Managers and Zone Marketing Managers to convert insights and data into actionable frameworks and initiatives for strengthening the Fuels Brands
 Leverage tools in areas like Macro Trends, Consumer Segmentation, Need States, Consumer Behavior/Attitudes, In-Market Tracking, Volume Forecasting, Return on Investment Modeling, and other key Research tools as required. Recommend detailed courses of action, as necessary
 Support Global Marketing efforts to develop strategies, plans, and programs that accurately reflect local market research
 Ensure that Market Research investments are optimized to deliver maximum return
 Business application of customized, integrated data streams
 Responsible for coordination of AMR Fuels Market Research requirements and annual budget plans with Global and Zone Brand Managers, Marketing Managers, Marketing Communications Manager and the Global Market Research team

Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in market research, marketing, or related business degree
•MBA or comparable graduate degree preferred
•Demonstrated experience in the process of delivering consumer, customer, and channel insights and recommendations to the business team
•Experience in training and developing less experienced members of the a team

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Experience with Retail Fuels channel partners preferred
•Strong analytical skills (business performance assessment, analytics, consumer insights, etc.)
•Excellent project management and collaboration skills
•Good understanding of marketing strategy and principles
•Strong leadership and influencing skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Excellent strategic thinking capabilities
