Job Description    
ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in its Corporate Strategic Research Laboratory located in Annandale, New Jersey.

We are seeking a candidate to join a team executing programs aimed at understanding and improving photosynthetic efficiency.

The successful candidate must have a strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence in photosynthesis, research photobioreactor development and operation, directed evolution, and/or algal photo-physiology.

A PhD in biophysics, biochemistry, chemical engineering, microbiology, or related degree focusing on photosynthesis or algal photo-physiology is required. Experience with continuous culture experiments is desirable. Candidates should also be willing to explore new areas and have excellent analytical skills, strong leadership skills, and outstanding communication skills allowing him or her to develop broad-based research programs.

ExxonMobil’s Corporate Strategic Research (CSR) laboratory is a dynamic and exciting place to work. CSR is located in scenic western New Jersey, about an hour west of New York City and northwest of Princeton. Within CSR, active research programs exist in all areas of the company’s business and include the traditional fields of chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, geoscience, and mechanical engineering. Interdisciplinary research is the norm, and close ties are maintained with academic and national laboratory communities through collaborations and publication or presentation of results.
