Job description:

  • Operational support to project (within own discipline and competency)
  • Represent Operations within the Project organisation in South Korea (if required)
  • Provide Operational input and experience to the Project team
  • Participate in construction and commissioning activities
  • Participate in HAZOP/HAZID/RFSU (Ready for Start-up)
  • Ensure that any deviations to Operations Requirements are properly handled through the change management system
  • Continuous focus on identifying and handling risks concerning operation
  • Ensure experience transfer from other similar projects
  • Ensure that all operational requirements are followed and understood by all parties (Statoil and contractors)
  • Ensure essential maintenance is carried out during post commissioning and handover of plant and equipment
  • Preparation for operation:
  • Support all activities described in the Pre-Operations plan for example:
  • Assist in developing company procedures to ensure compliance with Performance Standards and Industry Standards
  • Assess Technician’s competency to work on rotating equipment; including specialist equipment packages e.g. Gas Turbines, Gas Compression and HV/LV Pumps.
  • Review and maintain registers of mechanically authorised personnel
  • Help establish Operational Systems, Processes and Procedures for Production and Utility systems (System and Operating documents)
  • Assist with establishing the Maintenance Management System
  • Perform verifications of start-up procedures
  • Help develop Integrated Operations systems
  • Offshore Duties and Responsibilities during Operations phase: The Senior Mechanical Technician reports to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for:
  • Leadership and Emergency Response Duties
  • Deputise for the Maintenance and Modifications Supervisor when required, including Emergency Response Duties
  • Actively support Statoil commitment to safety and environmental protection and to minimise emissions and uncontrolled releases to the atmosphere
  • Carry out Emergency Response duties as detailed in the company Emergency Response Procedure’s
  • To be intimately aware of their responsibilities within the Emergency Response Procedures Manual
  • Demonstrate a pro-active role in identifying safety improvements
  • Participation in and close-out of accident/incident investigations
  • Develop company procedures to ensure compliance with Performance Standards and Industry Standards
  • Assess Technician’s competency to authorise work on rotating equipment in line with Statoil procedures
  • Review and maintain registers of mechanically competent personnel e.g. Bolting & Torquing, Rigging
  • Monitor performed work by subordinates and allocated contract vendor and to take ownership for the continuous development of personnel in relation to technical expertise and knowledge
  • Inform Maintenance and Modifications Supervisor on progress and status of on-going maintenance work
  • Technical Duties
  • Ensure Plant and Equipment is fully compliant with Performance Standards
  • Develop and control third party equipment register and portable equipment register
  • Report immediately any identified unsafe acts or conditions to line supervisor
  • Attend HAZANs, risk analysis, procedure reviews and audits as requested
  • Assist with the planning and coordination for all maintenance and repair work ensuring that technician productivity is maximised and that work on major equipment is aligned with other disciplines
  • Maintain a strong focus on production optimisation and equipment reliability
  • Responsible for ensuring all safety requirements, work permits and equipment isolations/inhibits are in place prior to work commencing and complete all necessary documentation to record the task undertaken
  • Ensure reported defect or breakdown is investigated; identifying any spares required/consumed and record all findings to a standard suitable for input to the Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP)
  • Assist and work closely with specialised vendors who visit the platform, ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and safely, also ensure that a site report is written and all work (both routine and corrective) is recorded to a standard suitable for input to the Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP)
  • Provide coaching and support toward the development Maintenance team utilising the appraisal process
  • Assist and work with other disciplines when required
  • Liaise with onshore support Engineers for resolution on Technical issues
  • Participate in the maintenance planning and ensuring pm compliance targets are met
  • Review and discuss all completed and on-going tasks and permits during shift handovers
  • Share and adopt best practices across the company
  • Demonstrate a large amount of flexibility in relation to work allocation
  • Assist with the resolution of operational problems, including providing input into plant trip/upset reports, and equipment failure root cause analysis
  • Operation, monitoring and trouble shooting on all Mechanical Equipment, including Power Generation
  • Carry out minor installation work and modifications to facilities and equipment in the domain of a skilled Mechanical Technician
  • Daily inspection, testing and optimization of equipment in accordance with weekly routines
  • Performance of Planned Maintenance Routines mechanical equipment
  • Onshore Duties and Responsibilities during Onshore period: The onshore Senior Mechanical Technician reports directly to the Onshore Production Supervisor
  • Support the Offshore Operation & Maintenance Team in terms of administration workload
  • Active involvement in preparation and planning for shutdowns and any campaign work scopes
  • Plan the Maintenance management of assigned production (business) and safety critical maintenance
  • Quality assurance of operational plans, including capacity
  • Continuously attempt to improve the Asset production performance

Qualifications:

  • Extensive operational experience
  • An Engineering Degree, HNC/ONC is preferable but not essential
  • Hold valid ECITB Certification for Mechanical Joint Integrity (TMJI 10,11,18,19,20)
