Job Overview

Reporting to a manager within the supply chain, category management team, you will support the strategy, contract development and negotiation as well as contract and contractor performance management activities to drive value in your category. You will work closely with the business unit stakeholders and external contractors to achieve this value.

Key Accountabilities

  • Foster an understanding of business demand and market conditions
  • Develop the procurement strategy for the services or materials
  • Manage lifecycle procurement activities
  • Evaluate commercial models for optimal business value from contracts
  • Lead in the areas of contract negotiation and contract development
  • Oversee the process for contractor performance management activities and improving contractor relationships
  • Focus on the construction, transportation and logistics, or the materials and chemicals categories

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Four or more years of experience in contract management, category management or supply chain management with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience in strategic, high value contract negotiations
  • Experience in forming and drafting contracts
  • Post-secondary education in business or engineering is preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated skills in business partner relationship management and continuous improvement applications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to drive commitment from both internal stakeholders and contractors to deliver value through the process implementation
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, policies and procedures and contract/procurement law
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical focus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
