Role synopsis

The European Gas & Power (EGP) Gas and Power Marketer is responsible for identifying and executing commercial opportunities and general business matters that are in line the EGP regional strategy and growth oriented agenda.  This role will have a regional scope which primarily stretches across the UK and Northwest European marketplace with a strong focus on the commercial and industrial consumer segment.  This marketer will focus on cultivating and delivering new business opportunities in primarily the natural gas and power space with additional emphasis on environmental commodities.  This role will have pnl and delivery expectations across each of these performance elements.

Key accountabilities:

  1. Originate and close value-added transactions with prospective customers in the region as part of customer growth strategy
  2. Utilize financial and physical structured products in line with Origination team to deepen product offering and value proposition
  3. Deliberate focus on prospective customer set in line with regional strategy that provides for sustainable customer margin, trading optimization value and structured products transactions
  4. Ability to connect with target customer set around providing energy solutions beyond a straight natural gas sale;  includes gas, power and risk management portfolio strategies providing value beyond a simple transaction
  5. Work closely with Origination, Trading, Credit, Operations, Settlements and Legal.
  6. Coordinate activities and share best practices/ideas with other marketers and originators within the region.
  7. Take direct profit and loss responsibility of $2.5+ million annually.
  8. Represent and promote BP at relevant industry functions.
