Head of Finance at National Oil Corporation of Kenya

The National Oil Corporation of Kenya is a fully integrated State Corporation involved in all aspects of the petroleum supply chain covering the upstream oil and gas exploration, midstream petroleum infrastructure development and downstream marketing of petroleum products. In the upstream, National Oil facilitates and directly participates in oil and gas exploration activities in Kenya. As a facilitator, National Oil is tasked with the marketing of Kenya’s exploration acreage, management of gas and exploration data and the running of the National Petroleum Laboratory among other attendant responsibilities.

The purpose of this position is to formulate, plan, coordinate, monitor and implement finance related activities of the Corporation to ensure prudent management of finances and ensure the corporation meets all financial obligations.

 Managing the financial reporting function to ensure timely issuance of monthly, quarterly, annual and management reports for decision making;
 Securing funding for the Corporations activities at the most competitive rates and managing the Treasury function;
 Developing, and implementing the corporation’s financial strategic plans and ensuring timely implementation;
 Monitoring the performance of the Corporation’s liabilities such as leases, insurance summaries, contingencies and loan expectations;
 Monitoring the annual financial budget and submitting performance reports to management;
 Overseeing and approving the management of daily cash flow;
 Ensuring optimum and effective working capital management;
 Preparing and monitoring the Corporation’s budgets;
 Provide oversight for departmental physical assets:
 Acting as the chief liaison with external auditors and KRA;
 Ensuring efficient revenue collection, disbursements, accounting and reporting;
 Designing and ensuring compliance and adherence to company policies, procedures and systems and statutory requirements; and
 Coaching, mentoring and developing the finance team and ensuring excellent performance and effective succession planning in the Department.
