Development and Production Norway (DPN) is, an operator and partner on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS); responsible for managing the NCS resources in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner; to create value for our owners, suppliers and the people of Norway. Statoil has today a solid position on the NCS. We have fields of all sizes, from giants such as Troll, Statfjord and Gullfaks, to small fast-track projects tied to existing infrastructure. Statoil’s ambition is to ensure at least 60% recovery from the NCS. Our products are marketed and sold on the global market, and our production has made Norway one of the world’s leading oil and gas exporters. Our top priority is safe, efficient and sustainable operation to pursue our long-term profitable production from the NCS.
Operations Technology is a strong muscle in Statoil. We provide technical support across our operations and new field developments. The area contributes to safe, efficient and sustainable operation, maintenance and projects. We contribute heavily in shaping the future of energy and realizing the potential on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). We are looking for talents within the disciplines: Fiscal and multiphase metering, Telecommunication, Process and safety control systems.
These openings are within the following four sectors, with job tasks described in ‘Job Description’ section:
1. SAS (Safety and Automation System)
2. Offshore Communication Systems
3. Fiscal Operations – Fiscal Metering
4. Fiscal Operations – Allocation and shipment planning

1. SAS (Safety and Automation System):
Participate in operation, maintenance and modification activities of SAS on our offshore installations. Engineering, programming, configuration and testing.
Sporadic offshore work as needed.
Planning and quality control.
Troubleshoot and support.
Secure good cooperation between offshore, onshore and suppliers.
Ensure effective use of resources through campaign-based work offshore.
2. Offshore Communication Systems:
Participate in operation, maintenance and modification activities of telecommunications systems for communicaton, information, alarmservices, flight- and marine navigations, data- and communication technology.
Follow up government and partner audits Sporadic offshore work as needed.
Planning and quality control.
Troubleshoot and support.
Ensuring best practices for condition monitoring of telecommunications systems.
3. Fiscal Operations – Fiscal Metering:
Development and operation of Fiscal metering station.
Technical support to operating assets and modifications. Recommending operational optimization and improvements.
Ensuring best practices for condition monitoring of fiscal metering equipment, quality assurance monthly reports and approve deviation management of possible measurement errors.
Contact with the authorities regarding the fiscal metering for local installations.
Follow up government and partner audits.
4. Fiscal Operations – Allocation and shipment planning:
Allocation of production to fields and partners in accordance with agreements.
Reporting of allocation and hydrocarbon accounts to partners, authorities and downstream operators.
Planning and follow-up of oil shipments from Statoils fields and terminals in accordance with agreements.
Participation when our allocation and shipment planning operations are audited by our partners.
Participate in project work related to allocation and/or shipment planning (typically new fields or changes to existing fields).
Participate in improvement work in the department, such as routines/work processes, use of IT-systems etc.
Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic record within automation, instrumentation, telecommunication, data, electronics or other related field. Economy studies are relevant for ‘Fiscal Operations – Allocation and shipment planning’ sector.
No more than one year of work experience
Fluent in English and Norwegian/ Scandinavian language
International work and/or study experience preferred
