The German Consular General, Ingo Herbert was highly welcomed by Nigerian journalists, bloggers, media and TV broadcasting organization in Lagos at Deutsche Welle’s (DW) Digital Heroes Award Ceremony held in Lagos.
Ingo Herbert’s presence at DW Digital Heroes Award Ceremony proves popular in Lagos at Lily Gate Hotel, Lekki Phase 1, where the event was been held. The event created an opportunity for Nigerian Journalists present at the event to meet and network with Ingo Herbert, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany to Lagos.
Deutsche Welle (DW), a German based international media organization, organized a one day event in Lagos to celebrate and reward Nigerian bloggers from different work space for their huge contributions to environmental issues in the country. The award category includes: Photography Blogger, Video Blogger, Article/Content Blogger etc…
At the event, DW was represented by Claus Stacker, Head of Programs for Africa, Annelie Moreira Da Silva, Senior Distribution Executive Africa and Adrian Kriesch, Africa Correspondent. Deutsche Welle has an extensive coverage in Africa and is making giant strides in providing original contents across the African region which is also contributing to the development of Africa through factual information distribution and positive feedback from its platform. DW contents covers several languages starting from English, German, Spanish and Arabic, with radio and online content available in 30 different languages.
The event also featured panel discussions where Nigerian bloggers were given the opportunity to discuss further on challenges and opportunities in the media industry, with a focus on social media in Nigeria and how it has been impacting positively to the society.
Speaking further, Neec Nonso, Founder and Creative Director of Neec Imagery, who was among the winners of DW’s photography award category, said, “DW Digital Heroes Award has given me the opportunity to showcase my photography works and network with like-minded bloggers”
