Nigeria International Technology Exhibition & Conference (Nitec) was launched with the aim of promoting technology in all sectors of Nigeria. Nitec 2017 featured industry experts from various organizations with extensive experience in information communication technology.
During the event, Ehi Braimah – PR & brand experience strategist, Nitec, delivered a keynote welcome address to the audience, officially opening the event, and commencing other panel discussions to begin.
In his words, he welcomed all participants and partners including those that were present during the last year’s edition, which took place at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In the opening speech, he said, “This platform is the only way we are trying to promote technology in Nigeria. We don’t do this alone. if you look at our banners you will see we have several partners promoting technology within the country”.
“I will like to appreciate our partners for their support towards this event and we pray that God Almighty will spare our lives, so that we can continue to promote technology as much as possible”, he added.
Furthermore, he said, “In last year’s event, we talked about Disruptive Technology but in this year’s edition, we are looking at Big Data & Analytics. For those of us who aren’t familiar with Analytics, you should be familiar with Data. There are several Data that should be used to manage different businesses and we believe that in a forum like this we should be able to harness what Big Data actually means”
According to him, there are three factors that are connected to Big Data: Volume, Velocity and Veracity. And this event will do justice to Big Data, Analytic and Application of SMEs.
Speaking further, Nitec 2017 will focus on SMEs, as we strongly believe that SMEs drive the economy anywhere in the world. If you look at what the likes of Andela is doing, it is the tech hub and the strength we have in Nigeria because there is nothing we can do without using technology.
In his final words, he once again, thanked everyone including the partners for coming and stressing that the event will be proactive and interesting.
