Permanent Secretaries meet Private Sector to discuss plans and opportunities for Uganda- Tanzania crude oil pipeline

Tanzania Oil & Gas Congress

From 11 – 12 September 2017, Permanent Secretaries representing Energy & Minerals, Planning and Finance, Industry, Trade and Investment, Works, Transport and Communications and Foreign Affairs will meet with private sector players including Total, GE Oil & Gas, Pietro Fiorentini, Stanbic Bank, ENH Mozambique and WiA Group to discuss opportunities availed by the Uganda-Tanzania crude pipeline in addition to other industry updates.

Honourable Minister of Energy & Minerals, Irene Muloni, Republic of Uganda, will speak on the first day of the Tanzania Oil & Gas Summit, on how the opportunities in the East Africa region can be harnessed through engagement and collaboration.

A Uganda-Tanzania project showcase on day one of the Congress will outline the opportunities
available to investors and indigenous service companies, as well as the practical steps to be taken to maximise the prospects – both in the short and long term.

The strategic gathering will also provide an insight into regulation surrounding natural gas contracts and how new legislation will impact planned LNG projects.

Officially opening the Congress will be Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, who will welcome Zanzibar Minister of Lands, Water, Energy and Environment, Hon. Salama Aboud Talib, to deliver a keynote address.

The Congress, to be held in Dar es Salaam from 11-12 September, is organised by Pietro Fiorentini and CWC Group. The event organisers invite private sector players to attend and make the most of the opportunity to access and do business with the key industry stakeholders in Tanzania and the surrounding region.
