BP receives consent to remove Ekofisk 2/4-G Facility

0

Ekofisk is an oil field lying in 70-75 metres of water in the southern North Sea, and was the first field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to come into production.
Ekofisk 2/4 G, under the Valhall licence, was a riser platform tying the Valhall field to Ekofisk. Two 20″ pipelines ran between Valhall and Ekofisk, one for oil and one for gas. From Ekofisk, the oil was transported on to Teesside and the gas to Emden.
The activity is scheduled to start in June 2016.
The PSA has now given BP consent to remove the facility.
