Idaho is the nation’s fastest-growing state and its using foreign direct investment as a way to create jobs for its booming population. Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter will announce a new $90M+ investment by a Dutch company to build a 155,000-square-foot facility on 33 acres of land in southern Idaho, creating more than 50 jobs.

The press briefing will take place on Thursday, June 21st, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. ET at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, Idaho booth #107.

The fully automated state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in Idaho, and the company’s second U.S. location. The southern Idaho location was chosen to support the growing food production industry in Idaho.

Home to expanding companies from France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Australia and Canada, Idaho’s growing sectors include agribusiness, plastics, science, research and advanced manufacturing. With almost 12 million acres of farmland and nearly 25,000 farms and ranches, Idaho’s natural resources make it ideal for agriculture and food manufacturers. Dairy, the state’s largest agricultural sector, is also rapidly expanding with the state producing an average of 40 million pounds of milk per day. The Idaho National Laboratory, part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s complex of national labs, is the nation’s leading center for nuclear energy research and development and employs over 4,000.
