Maersk Oil UK has a definite presence in the UK North Sea. They are honoured to have been recognised at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Offshore Achievements Awards.

Maersk Oil UK won two awards at the March Society of Petroleum Engineers Offshore Achievement Awards, one of which was in the category of Outstanding Graduate Programme, a brand new award for the event.

The Maersk International Technology and Science (MITAS) entry-level programme, which has been running in the UK since 2006 and to which MOUK received 2500 applications in 2014, won the award in the face of stiff competition from Petrofac.

The second win of the night came in the category of Working Together, with Maersk Oil’s nomination focusing on the partnership between Maersk Oil, Bibby Offshore, DOF Subsea and Helix Canyon during the Dumbarton Centre Central riser and flowline reinstatement project carried out in 2014. The project was successfully completed on time, in budget and Incident-Free. It’s the second win for Maersk Oil in this category in the space of three years, having won in 2013 for outstanding work related to the Gryphon Area recovery project.

Maersk Oil firmly established itself in the UK in 2005 and has an ambitious growth target of doubling its UK production by 2020. In 2013, we have invested around USD 1 billion in the UK to help reach this target. Our key projects include the Golden Eagle and Culzean.

Nicola Macleod, Director Legal, HR and Communications said: “To have been shortlisted in the first place, and then to have won in two such prestigious categories is humbling, especially given the quality of the other nominees. It was a great night for Maersk Oil and particularly for the teams behind two very different but equally impressive nominations.”
