The organisers of African Utility Week 2015 are pleased to reveal the full nominee list for this year’s Industry Awards.
The Lifetime Achievement category, which was won by Steve Lennon, Group Executive: Sustainability, Eskom, South Africa in 2014 is one to watch in 2015. Some of the nominees in this category include:
The judging process has begun and our highly-respected judging panel are reviewing all the motivations and deciding who has excelled in the past year.
One of our judges, Dr Sam Amadi, Chairman & CEO, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Nigeria says of the Awards “the AUW has advanced the energy discourse in our continent and I am delighted to be a judge at AUW 2015”.
Alex Osei, GM, Management Information Systems, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana adds ”I am excited to be part of the panel of judges. Many of the industry players are doing well. This is the time for us to motivate them to work harder through the awards and the best performers will certainly win”.
Our Outstanding Woman in Power/Water category is an exciting addition in 2015 and coincides with the year of Women’s empowerment and development towards Africa’s agenda 2063. With nominees from Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Ghana this is going to be a highly contested category.
Once the judging process is complete, a shortlist will be announced om the 10th of April, followed by the winners at a gala dinner taking place at the CTICC during AUW on Wednesday 13 May.
